The Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce will host its 27th Annual Clean-Up Day on Saturday, November 6, 2010 beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The event will begin at the staging area located at the Metro Orange Line Parking Lot at 6060 Van Nuys Blvd. adjacent to Aetna Avenue in Van Nuys.

Volunteers need to sign-up with Mrs. Giller in the Career Center by lunch on October 27. Bring a team! Ask friends, relatives, club members. 

The first 150 to check-in at the staging area will receive a reusable Clean-Up Day Tote Bag that boasts the logos of the event sponsors and encourage participants to help green our community one bag at a time. 

Supplied with rakes, hoes, brooms, and trash bags, volunteers prove that “every litter bit helps” in keeping the area clean and fresh.

The staging area will feature a Kids’ Area where children can take part in art activities that highlight a clean and green Valley.

Even the most tedious and dirty work can be fun when working side-by-side with others who share the same interest as you. This year’s clean up day boundaries will be the Metro Orange Line bike path between Hazeltine Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard.

Team Awards will be presented to the groups that put together the most participants in the categories of schools/classrooms and businesses/community groups.
